X object The "X Object" diptych presents itself as a visual investigation into the archaeology of the unknown. Composed of two mirrored elements measuring 35 by 40 centimeters, the work immerses the viewer in a rarefied atmosphere, where the boundary between past and present is unclear. The backgrounds of the two paintings are characterized by a blurred and hazy texture, a chromatic fog that denies any spatial or temporal coordinates.
In the first element, beige and lilac hues dominate, evoking a dusty dawn or a suspended desert. In the second, the juxtaposition of light blue and pink suggests an almost ethereal atmospheric dimension. In this absence of context, the objects appear devoid of scale: large as monuments or small as components of other artifacts. At the center of each panel stands an artificial black silhouette that defies interpretation and understanding. The structure is rigorous yet incomprehensible: two opposing bases (upper and lower) from which vertical elements branch out, resembling spirals or antennas, enclosing the central body. The latter, composed of lines of force arranged on three levels, comprises a series of rectangular tiles. Their variable widths and seemingly random arrangement suggest a code, a binary language, or a mechanical function for which we have no clue. The provenance of the artifacts, their use, or their purpose are unknown. The objects remain suspended and silent, visually representing the investigation of the unknown and the enduring mystery.
